February 2022

It's election season in the FA
Cynthia Eaton

election timeline: 3/2 close noms, 4/11 ballots mailed, 5/6 ballots due

Each spring the FA holds elections for positions on the Executive Council in accordance with our Elections Procedures. In odd-numbered years, it's half of the EC reps plus all officer and NYSUT/AFT delegate positions. Since this is an even-numbered year, we are hosting elections for the other half of the EC.

Unlike last spring we're no longer fully remote, so the voting procedures will go back to voting on campus for campus-based constituencies and voting by mail for college-wide constituencies. Below are the timeline and positions up for election, with EC reps whose terms are expiring in parenthesis.

If you wish to make a nomination, follow the instructions when completing and returning the official nominations form, available below as a Word file for electronic submission and as a pdf file for printing and signing.

Election timeline

  • February 1, 12 pm Call for nominations: Use this Word .docx form to submit via email or use the .pdf form to print, sign and submit in person or by mail or interoffice mail
  • March 2, 12 pm — Close of nominations: Nominations must be submitted to elections committee chair Cynthia Eaton by email or to the FA office in writing.
  • March 18, 12 pm — Accept/decline due from all nominees

  • April 11, 4 pm — Ballots mailed to members' homes via US Postal Service
