  •   newspaper clipping of FA's founding in 1970

Celebrate the FA's birthday on March 10: The FA was founded on March 10, 1970, and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2020. We remind our members to pause and reflect on the value of our union on March 10 this year. It has taken generations of union activists and untold hours of labor to develop the contract and benefits that we enjoy today. While we know there's always room for improvement, we also know that without the FA the college would be very different workplace today.

  • Finding your total annual dues for your taxes: To find your total amount of dues paid from January to December 2022 for tax filing purposes, in MySCCC, click the Employees tab, then click into the Employee Dashboard. There you'll find a Deductions History link with the information you need.

  • Prescription drug claim forms: Prescription drug claims for 2022 must be received by Daniel H. Cook by April 30, 2023. The form is available at the Benefit Fund office, Southampton 224D (Ammerman).

  • EMHP updates: Faculty will see a contribution increase from 2.2% to 2.3% of their base salary as of January 1, 2023. Faculty must submit all unpaid 2022 medical claims to Empire Blue Cross by March 31, 2023, to receive reimbursement for covered out-of-pocket expenses. Forms are on the EMHP website: www.emhp.org/members.aspx.

In addition, we will be receiving new EMHP ID cards, and Optum will replace Beacon for mental health as of February 1. The college sent a College Brief on Friday, January 20, with details.
