Next Tuesday is Election Day and we ask that you consider supporting theĀ Suffolk County Legislature candidates endorsed by the FA political action committee as a result of screenings in late August.

Our endorsements are always based on an incumbent candidate’s past support of education and labor or, for the non-incumbents, on their stated beliefs or actions from any previous elected positions.

All of our endorsements were reviewed and unanimously approved by our Executive Council on our Thursday, August 31, meeting.

As we do every two years we have reached out to our nearly 57,000 fellow New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) colleagues who work in Suffolk County and asked them to support the candidates we have endorsed. We make it clear to the candidates that in order to receive an FA endorsement they must appear before the political action committee to be screened. During the screening we discuss our issues regarding the college budget, capital projects and labor issues.

The members of the FA Political Action Committee as well as our official endorsement are below:

  • Kevin Peterman
  • Sean Tvelia
  • Cynthia Eaton
  • Peter DiGregorio
  • Dante Morelli
  • Kevin McCoy
  • Kim Ng Southard
  • Bruce Seger
