A new season for our popular discussion series
Sarah Kain Gutowski

The popular Faculty Association Discussion Series continues to offer four professional development panel discussions throughout the year in cooperation with the Office for Faculty and Professional Advancement.

While open to all of our members, we continue to especially encourage new members to attend.

The sessions are moderated by the chair of the New Member Program and feature members of the faculty. Topics are intended to help new members shape their career paths at SCCC with purpose, efficiency and confidence.

A typical discussion features a panel of approximately four faculty members—ideally representing the three campuses, and also teaching faculty, librarians, counselors, special-ists and professional assistants—reading short papers on the designated topic. A moderated question/answer session follows.

The dates for this year’s discussions are listed below. Watch your email for specific topics of discussion and locations. Then be sure to join us—and bring a colleague, new or veteran.
