New Member Discussion Series: Not just for new members
Sarah Kain Gutowski

Now in its second year, our very popular New Member Discussion Series consists of four professional development panel discussions throughout the year in cooperation with the Office for Faculty and Professional Advancement.

The sessions are moderated by the chair of the New Member Program and feature mentors and members of the faculty. Topics are intended to help new members shape their career paths at SCCC with purpose, efficiency and confidence.

Thus, they are open to all of our members, not just new members.

A typical discussion features a panel of approximately four faculty members—ideally representing the three campuses, and also teaching faculty, librarians, counselors, specialists and professional assistants—reading short papers on the designated topic. A moderated question/answer session follows.

The dates for this year’s discussions are as follows. Watch your email for specific topics of discussion and locations.
