  • Faculty Association and Benefit Fund closings: Both the FA and the Benefit Fund offices will be closed from December 23 and December 31.
  • Longevity checks: According to payroll on January 14, 2016, longevity checks will be distributed to full-time faculty employed more than 10 years by Suffolk County.

  • Wintersession 2016 and spring 2016 adjunct/overload checks: According to payroll faculty who teach during the wintersession will receive one check on January 21. Here are the spring 2016 adjunct/overload pay dates:
March 3 April 28
March 17 May 12
March 31 May 26
April 14  
Faculty teaching early end classes will receive four checks from March 3 to April 14; faculty teaching late start classes will receive four checks from April 14 to May 26.
  • Finding your total annual dues for your taxes: For tax filing purposes here’s how to find your total amount of dues paid from January to December 2015: In MySCCC, click the Employees tab, then Pay Stub. Click the Deductions History link at the bottom of the page.

    We encourage members to print, clip and save this card. It is your right under the 1975 Supreme Court decision to have union representation at any meeting that may result in discipline. Contact the FA at 451-4151.
    Prescription drug claim forms: Prescription drug claims for 2015 must be received by Daniel H. Cook by April 30, 2016. The form is available at the Benefit Fund office, Southampton 224D (Ammerman), or on our website:
  • EMHP claim forms: Faculty must submit all unpaid 2015 medical claims to Empire Blue Cross by March 31, 2016, to receive reimbursement for covered out-of-pocket expenses. Forms are on the EMHP website:
  • February faculty development workshops: Three faculty development workshops will be held next spring (all during common hour):

    • February 3 at Ammerman: Old Field Room, Babylon Student Center
    • February 10 at Grant: Sagtikos 221
    • February 17 at Eastern: Corchaug 18

  • Thank you to Suffolk AHRC: We bid a fond farewell to our partnership with the Suffolk AHRC, for whom we hosted plant sales every spring and fall since 2004. Due to funding issues, they are closing their doors. We wish all of their staff well.
