Welcome

The Faculty Association of Suffolk Community College is YOUR UNION at Suffolk Community College. The FA represents and negotiates for adjunct, as well as full-time, classroom faculty, librarians, counselors, specialists and professional
assistants on the three campuses of Suffolk County Community College.

The FA urges all adjuncts to become voting members of the FA. To become a member, simply complete a NYSUT application form and sign the FA voter registration card—both of which will be sent to you by calling the FA Office at 631.451.4151. Membership entitles you to have a voice in the union and to vote on a contract and for officers and representatives who provide the union's leadership and governance.

In the FA, you have a variety of resources available to you to help keep you informed about your rights and responsibilities as well as about college policies and procedures. The pages linked above provide our responses to our adjunct colleagues' most frequently asked questions. In addition, we offer the following documents:

  • Adjunct Survival Guide - This guide includes much of the same information linked above in an easy-to-print pdf format as well as other useful stuff like campus maps and local eateries near each campus.

  • Adjunct Rights & Benefits: In Brief - This brochure [to be linked soon!] provides the most concise summary of adjunct benefits at Suffolk.

Of course, no website or documents can respond to all of your questions. Therefore, we have a number of union activists who stand at the ready to assist you. You can contact any of the following individuals with your inquiries:
